Parent Council

Harris Academy Purley Parents Council

All Parents/ Carers who have a son/daughter on roll are automatically members of the Academy Parent Forum. The Parent Council is a representative body for the Forum.
The aims of the Parent Council are to represent the views of all Parents/ Carers and to contribute towards the Academy securing the best learning opportunities for all our students.
 
 
Terms of Reference
·         To work in partnership with the Academy to create a welcoming school that is inclusive for all parents and carers.
·         To work with staff, governors, sponsors and other stakeholders to implement the vision of the Academy.
·         Engage in a wide range of initiatives that promote the progress of the Academy and students within it.
·         To achieve the widest possible levels of participation/ engagement amongst parents and carers by promoting the work of the Parent Council
 
 
Officers
The Chair and Secretary are elected annually at the 2nd meeting of the Parent Council of each academic year. Parental views are represented by the Parent Council to the Academy Senior Team through the Assistant Principal.
 
 
Meetings of the Council
There will be one meeting each half term and the dates will be published on the website. The Parent Council is an elected representative body for all Parents/ Carers that have sons/ daughters on roll at the Academy. All minutes of the Parents Council will be posted regularly on the Academy website.
