Charity Concert At The O2

Thirty year 7’s performed in a charity concert at the O2 as part of a 6000 strong choir on Friday 2nd July. The event was called ‘License to Thrill’ and choirs across the UK  learnt a challenging medley of twenty eight songs with movements. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing at the O2 which was very exciting for our students.   Miss Van Der Weide Head of Music commented   "The students were a tribute to the Academy, it was fantastic event and the students sang their hearts out!"

  This was a charity concert organised be Voices for a better World. They raise funds for ‘Arts by Children’ to support creativity globally in areas of deprivation.   Celebrity's were out in force at the O2 including  Blue Peter presenter Andy Akinwolere, 'Over the Rainbow' finalists Bronte Barber, Dani Rayner and Emily Fleming and Hollyoaks stars Sebastian Lawson, Sebastian Drake and Loui Batley.
