Box Clever Road Safety

On Wednesday 19th April 2017, we welcomed the Box Clever theatrical company back to the Academy to perform a special road safety assembly for our Year 9 and 10 students.  Box Clever had performed their play back in November for our Year 11 students and it was so well received that we asked them to return for Years 9 and 10.

The performance, entitled 'The Passenger' is a play part-funded by Croydon Council to raise awareness of road safety issues for students in schools across Croydon.  The performance involved the cast re-enacting different types of traffic accidents involving young people.

Once again, Box Clever did a fantastic job of conveying the messages to our students and there was audience participation throughout.  The students enjoyed their morning and we hope this has instilled a sense of awareness in the students for their journeys to and from the Academy.
