Harris Manchester College, Oxford University

On the 4th of July I had the invaluable opportunity to visit Manchester College, Oxford University. When we arrived we attended a short lecture relating to mathematics, I found it very mind boggling, but it gave me an insight to how lectures at a higher level would be given. After that, we visited the library and toured around the college looking at various chapels and the student rooms.

It was a very enjoyable learning environment and Dr Ralph was a good inspiration as he taught us to never give up, even if we thought we'd failed. Looking at student creations and achievements, which were placed around the school, it made me feel like one day, if I tried hard enough I could be in their position. We were fortunate enough to dine in their prestigious halls, which were filled with pictures of historical figures and people we know of today, such as Lord Harris. After dining, we had a short walk around the nearby town and the main library, which is used by Oxford University and is one of the oldest in the country.

To conclude, my trip to Oxford was extremely interesting and taught me that if I put my mind to anything, I could achieve it and that I should have faith in the struggle.
