International Day 2017

On Tuesday 11th July, our Academy celebrated its first International Day. This was an event requested and part organised by a group of Year 10 students, with the intention of celebrating the cultural diversity at the Academy.

There were a range of activities on offer throughout the day, from a planatarium 'space tent' in our Dance Studio to Sumo Wrestling and Judo in our Sports Hall. We also had a special international assembly delivered by Mr Boyd and samosa cooking lessons in Food Technology.

Many of our staff and students arrived at the Academy in traditional national dress, including Indian sarees, Scotish kilts and Nigerian agbadas to name a few.

At the end of the day, our Year 10 students set up an international food stall, selling a range of foods from around the world including samosas, curried goat and jerk chicken. The proceeds from the sales will go towards future events at the Academy.
