Berlin Trip 2017

On a wet, grey Saturday we set out to explore Berlin. First up was a tour designed to encompass the more modern history of this eclectic city. We learnt about the socio-economic changes over the last 30 years and how these have influenced the society, it’s community projects and it’s housing situation.

After a tour filled with information we headed to Brauhaus Sudstern, an independent brewery, where their master brewer gave us a history of brewing and the scientific advances now being applied. Finally, in the evening we enjoyed a Bavarian evening of food, songs and dancing.

Sunday started with a trip to the Spectrum Science Centre. The students had a great time exploring the amazing phenomena associated with sound, light, magnetism and quantum physics. Later they spent the afternoon on a tour of the major historical landmarks that they organised themselves. In the evening we had our last evening meal in Berlin followed by a trip up the Fernsehturm.
