Speak Out Challenge workshop
On Wednesday 21 February, Elaine from the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge delivered a workshop to a group of 27 Year 10 students. They were exceptionally behaved, and impressed Elaine with their maturity, enthusiasm and passion for the subjects they spoke about.
Each student participated in a number of activities and at the end of the day delivered a one and a half minute speech to the rest of their peers. After some deliberation due to the range of excellent speeches performed, myself and Elaine were able to select four students from the session to deliver their speech to an assembly, which will decide on one student who will go forward to represent the school at the regional finals. Those four students are:
- Sarai Thompson
- Nyah Gordon
- Annika Panesar
- Jack Dixon
They were each incredibly nervous but spoke passionately and maturely about their chosen subjects. If you see these students, please congratulate them on this fantastic achievement and encourage them, as they are understandably nervous to deliver their speech in front of a larger group of students.
