Jack in the Jack Petchey Regionals

On Tuesday evening, a number of teachers from the English department went to support Jack Dixon during his speech at the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge regional finals.

Unfortunately Jack did not make it into the top three finalists, but he gave an outstanding performance and was an amazing representative for the Academy. The speech Jack wrote was delivered confidently, clearly, and engaged the audience. It was an incredibly tough competition, with an exceptionally high standard of speakers. The winner of the night came from Coloma Convent Girl’s School. You can view her speech on YouTube:

Jack made so much of an improvement from the initial performance he gave and spoke like a true professional speaker.

Below are some pictures from the day, including Jack delivering his speech in the workshop that preceded the final and of Jack on the stage with the Mayor of Croydon.
