Book Fair

Throughout the first week of October, our Library hosted a book fair with publishing company Scholastic.

The fair gave staff and students the opportunity to pop into the library during break, lunch or after school to read or purchase books from a huge range Scholastic provided. Over £800 worth of books were sold, which is fantastic not only for literacy in the Academy, but because our library receive a percentage of those sales to reinvest in books and resources for our students to benefit from.

During the fair, Ms Norris and Ms Parfree held several competitions, including a Book Review competition, which asked for students to write a review about a book they recently read. The winners would each receive a £5 voucher, which could be used to buy one of the recently released books available at the fair. The winners of the competition were: Preena, Daniel and Sonia in Year 7 and Safa in Year 8. Congratulations to all of those students!
