Science
Science is a continually developing subject so it is vital that we teach students how to continually update their scientific understanding as they grow up and develop, but in order to do this they must have gained the key building blocks already discovered.
Throughout Science we intend for our curriculum to link to scientific knowledge and skills to the wider world to show students the importance of science and scientific thinking, even if this will not be their primary field of future study and work.
Our ultimate aim is to assist students in developing an enquiring mind and to help them become scientifically literate citizens with a true awareness and appreciation of science in the world around them.
Which exam board and specification do we follow?
All students will follow AQA GCSE specifications. Students have the choice of whether to study Combined Science: Trilogy (8464) or Separate Sciences: Biology (8461), Chemistry (8462) and Physics (8463).
