Student Leadership

Student Voice is a group of students who act as the official voice of the student body.

The members are annually elected by their peers to attend regular meetings with our leadership team, where they can raise concerns and suggest improvements to aspects of academy life.

Prefects work in faculty leadership teams, with each faculty nominating and voting for:

  • Faculty President: Oversees and chairs student faculty leadership meetings
  • Faculty Vice-President: Minutes student faculty leadership meetings and deputises for the faculty president when required
  • Inter-faculty Events Co-ordinator: Leads on inter-faculty events and ensures that all inter-faculty events are well represented
  • Faculty Fundraising Lead: Leads on the planning and organising of fundraising events and liaises with staff in the planning of these events
  • Faculty Representatives: Supports their faculty with inter-faculty events, fundraising events, actively contributes to student faculty leadership meetings, represents their faculty peers in these meetings and plays an active role in the wider academy life.

Each faculty groups are working towards meeting three objectives this year:

  • Fulfil faculty student leadership teams
  • Promote and run inter-faculty events
  • Organise and lead on a fundraising event

You Said, We Did

Here are some of the requests and suggestions you made during meetings, along with the solutions we've implemented.

You wanted to be able to report concerns anonymously.

We now offer the SHARPS anonymous online reporting tool on our website.

You asked for rewards as an incentive for attendance.

We introduced reward experiences such as Thorpe Park and The Animal Experience. We also launched the Race-to-15 competition, issue weekly certificates, and award prizes.

You wanted more transparency about dealing with bullying issues.

We launched an anti-bullying initiative in November 2025. We remind all students about the school bullying policy, untilise resolution contracts, and bring more awareness to our behavioural policy.

Sixth Form showed interest in subjects such as Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, and Economics.

We delivered Sixth Form taster days and Open Evenings which promoted different subjects.

You said that homework can be inconsistent. KS4 students wanted more revision sessions and revision guidance.

We revised our homework programme and delivered assemblies on revision strategies.

We have also started pre-exam revision sessions before mock exams.

You wanted dedicated study spaces.

The library is now open at lunchtime and after school.
